Changelog

The blog is live: the embroidery file formats guide

  • First blog post: “Embroidery file formats: which does your machine need?” — the guide to the PES, DST, JEF, EXP and VP3 formats (what they carry, DST or PES, what a conversion changes), written in English and French.
  • A “Format guide” link joins the footer of every page.

Transparency, security and reading comfort

  • New “About” page: who builds the site, how the conversion works (pyembroidery, EU-based server, no AI) and how the service is funded.
  • Illustrated conversion pages: a preview of the design, before and after conversion, is now shown for every format pair.
  • The legal notice now details hosting (Cloudflare, dedicated Hetzner server in the EU) and file processing.
  • Hardened security: strict HTTP headers (Content-Security-Policy, HSTS, Permissions-Policy) on every page.
  • Your chosen output format is remembered between visits, and the file uploader starts loading earlier thanks to module preloading.
  • Machine-readable documentation: /llms-full.txt publishes the full site content alongside /llms.txt.
  • English pages now have English URLs (/en/convert/pes-to-jef/, /en/about/); old addresses redirect automatically.

Content, transparency and performance

  • Every conversion page gains a dedicated guide: a comparison table of the two formats, a “what changes in this conversion” section, machine-compatibility notes and one dedicated FAQ entry.
  • The legal pages (legal notice, privacy, terms) are published, along with the file retention policy.
  • Page JavaScript weight is cut fivefold: interactive areas moved from React to Preact.
  • The 10 MB per-file limit and immediate deletion of converted files are now documented under the drop area.

Public launch

  • Online converter for the PES, DST, JEF, EXP and VP3 formats: 20 possible conversions, in English and French.
  • 2 free conversions every 24 h, no sign-up required; 24-hour pass and monthly plan for unlimited use.
